Start with the qualification or work experience that matters to the decision. A regulated or specialist role may depend on a particular degree; a senior operations position may require confirmation of a previous employer, role and dates. Prepare the right identifiers
For education, note the institution, faculty, award, graduation year and name used in the records. Read the outcome with context
Results may be confirmed, different from the CV, or unresolved. Differences can reflect translation, contract arrangements or record conventions, so investigate them in context. An institution or former employer that does not respond should be reported as an unanswered check, not as proof the claim is false.
Keep the report useful
A good report distinguishes the candidate’s statement, the source contacted, the facts confirmed and any limits. Confirm the intended turnaround and fee for each claim before work begins, especially if a CV lists several employers or degrees.
